Luca Royal's hand grasped onto his mother's finger ever so tightly. He is so small and fragile, yet completely at peace in the safety of his father's arms. Watching Gabi and Josh with their newborn son was like watching a movie... a tenderness and adoration so palpable it seemed like I was experiencing their love through a looking glass, and yet as though it was directed straight to me.

Having been able to capture Luca's birth, I was able to travel their journey to some small degree and relate it to my own journey, having had two children, myself. It is quite an emotional rollercoaster to experience the anticipation of expecting a child, the joy and pain of pregnancy, and the gratitude to God and overwhelming love of that child's arrival here on earth.  

We giggled as we watched Luca squirm and stretch, yawning as he awoke from his too short nap. Pixel, their pup, and Luca were siblings all at once, and listening to the contented sighs that came from both of them as they relaxed in each other's company was just precious. 

I am so thrilled to see Josh and Gabi excel as they step into this new chapter of their lives, not only with their geographical move from Dallas to San Francisco, but into parenthood and teaching Luca about God and life and what matters most.
