CARLIE HEBERT / SENIOR PORTRAITS/ BATON ROUGE, LA

Carlie and I spent some time walking around LSU's campus where she has been in school, day in and day out, for the last 4 years. Her time here has come to an end as she graduates with a degree in marketing. Her excitement and pride are apparent as she talks about finishing this season of life and moving into the next one.

She has accomplished so much, and given so much. You see, when the floods happened in Baton Rouge in August of last year, her family home and their restaurant were flooded. In addition to school and work, she took on extra and gave of her time to help clean up and rebuild. Later that fall, she lost her father in a tragic car accident. It was such a devastating event, besides having to balance all of the other things still going on in her life.

She has tenacity, grit, and drive to carry on with school while handling her other responsibilities. This milestone is one that deserves to be celebrated and remembered with joy. I know her dad is smiling down, so very proud of her and all of her accomplishments.

P.S. Model much?

This necklace is extra special. It has Carlie's dad's name on one side and his thumbprint on the other. It holds such significance for her, and inspires me to hold my loved ones close to my heart and tell them that I love them daily.
